Ingredients:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 cups of Sugar
- 1 cup of Butter
- 1 cup of Coca Cola
- 3 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
- A pinch of Salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup of Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
Frosting ingredients:
For the frosting, you will need the following ingredients:
- 3/4 cup of Butter
- 3 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
- 6 tablespoons of Coca Cola
- 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- 4 1/2 cups of Powdered Sugar
Instructions:
For the cake, preheat the oven to 350°F and grease and flour one 9 x 13 inch baking pan. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together the softened butter, beaten eggs, buttermilk and vanilla extract.
Add the butter mixture to the dry mixture and mix until just combined. Add the Coca Cola and cocoa powder and mix until combined.
Now pour the cake mixture into the prepared baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and set aside to cool.
Frosting:
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and cocoa powder. Add in the Coca Cola, vanilla extract and powdered sugar and mix until light and fluffy.
Now spread the frosting on the cooled cake and decorate as desired.
