3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28-ounce) can puréed Italian tomatoes
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons minced fresh oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves

Instructions:

Step 1: In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until tender, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to low.
Step 2: Add the puréed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, Italian seasoning, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3: Add the parsley and basil, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning, if desired. Serve on top of your favorite pasta or over your favorite dish.
